Why “Come dine with Teo”?

cropped-20130721_193014-1.jpgCooking has always been my passion. Since I was a kid, I used to hang around in the kitchen when my mum was preparing dinner or lunch for my family.

I remember myself as a young boy – I could’ve been like 7 or 8 – opening the fridge and the cupboards, choosing and mixing and blending as if I was one of the most famous chefs in the world. And I even explained what I was doing to my invisible audience!

The results were pretty miserable though. Most of the times, especially at the beginning, I had to throw my “stuff” away because the only definition you could give it was toxic or better… disgusting.

But cooking was in my blood, and little by little I improved my skills, becoming the pretty good cook I am now.

I like to cook for myself, of course, but I think that preparing food without a “judge panel” is a bit boring. It’s way much more fun to cook when I have friends over for dinner, trying to impress them with classics, or if I’m particularly inspired, with something new that generally comes in my mind just having a look at the ingredients available.

There is always space and time to learn new things, though. I really like food in all its features, I like experimenting new cuisines, new flavours, new textures, always being faithful to my strong Italian roots.

So this nth cooking blog is a way to share my experiences and my passion for the kitchen, but it’s also dedicated to my mum.

      1. oh nice. my favorite city in the world. i saw soho on one of your posts, but that could have been NYC as well! My daughter just moved from London last year after four glorious years of living there. I went as often as I could, as you can imagine. I really miss it, and so does she. She lives in NYC now. It’s dirtier, and noisier, but she’s a city girl!

      2. Well I’m a city boy as well! I’ve grown up in a small city, moved to Milan to attend uni, lived there for 15 year before leaving Italy. Never been to NYC but I’m not sure it’s dirtier and noisier than London! 🙂
